A casual way to let you know what I'm up to.

So pour a cup, get comfy, and enjoy this journey with me

I’m so happy with the outpouring of generosity for the 100 Hats Project in January. I’ve been working on opening a Spoonflower site. The inspiration for my 1st mini collection designs came from the my work on the 100 Hats Project. The designs are waiting on copyright approval. I can’t wait to share the collection with the you and open my Spoonflower site!!!

This website is definitely a work in progress, I don’t know where in the internet-verse my original post went. Over clicking on my part is most likely the answer. So i’ll paraphrase the original post of the “making of this website”…

I’ve been putting off creating a website for a long time. Mostly because I was intimidated of the process. Sometimes technology clicks for me and other times I’m watching endless videos on U-Tube. After starting it I was kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I even started this blog. I would never consider myself a blogger. I using it as a way to keep myself accountable & if others enjoy and benefit even better. So thanks for reading & starting this journey with me.

I am working on my “100+ Hats Project”. I have a goal of knitting 100 plus hats by January 13, 2023. I will then display all the hats and people can just take one. I am asking everyone who can to please donate to the Ellis Square Friends. Click on the “100 Hats Project” on my website header & look over the list of stuff ESF need to keep their 100+ weekly lunches going. There is also an option to donate thru their website www.ellissquarefriends.com. If the Ellis Square Friends can make & distribute 100+ lunches weekly I can knit 100+ hats. I’ve be fortunate enough to have a few generous donations of yarn & hand knitted hats. The goal still stands I will personally knit 100 hats. It all starts with a single stitch. Each hat is a thank you & reminder that we all can help others. For those keeping count I have 68 out of 100 knitted as of today 12/4/2023. My current mantra “ you have time to sit you have time to knit”. https://www.kimcodnerdesigns.com/100-hats-project

I made two new weaves. The one I’m sharing in this post is “creamsicle”

The whole weaving artwork came into being after I had accumulated a pile of watercolor and trimmed the edges to fit into frames. I was left with a stack of colorful strips that I just started to weave them together. It brought me back to grade school when I wove construction paper to make a place mat. Anyways, I loved the result and no waste.

The first piece I did is titled “woven”.(pictured at far right)

So since then I keep prints, watercolor, etc I make and but don’t like the end result and in corporate them into my weavings.

The inspiration for this one, well, I always been drawn to anything creamsicle flavored. I love that orange & vanilla melty goodness held by that pale wooden stick.

It reminds me as a child growing up outside of Boston chasing the ice cream truck as it drove down the street. I’m lucky to have been a child with a “wicked” sweet tooth with long legs.
